Sharon & Alan have sent us this email.

We met Alison & Roy for the first time in January 07 when our first little Ragdoll Henri was only about 3 weeks old. I had spent some time researching catteries in the Auckland area and just had a "feeling" that “Keepin Katz” was the one for us. I couldn't have imagined going anywhere else - and would recommend them (as well as their cats!!!) to anybody seeking to add to their family.

Alison & Roy provide a loving environment for their kittens, have exceptional knowledge about this lovable breed, and encouraged us to visit the cattery as often as we needed. They were incredibly patient and understanding of my initial dithering as to which kitten to choose and spent many hours with me helping me to choose. It is obvious from the time you enter their home that the cats and kittens are truly treasured and they are not just "breeders" but passionate about the Ragdolls.

We were very impressed with the cleanliness of the cattery and the large amount of room the cats enjoyed here. Alison & Roy are personable and gracious and spent a lot of time with us showing the kittens and discussing the care, personalities and specialties of the Ragdoll. Although we initially went just to "look", it was quickly apparent that we would be adopting one or more & eventually over a period of time we now have four!!!. Selecting the one we wanted was the hardest decision to make as they are all so cute but eventually we had to make a choice and we have no regrets. We are especially glad that we have the four as they play, cuddle & sleep together and obviously they love being with each other and us of course!

We have complete confidence in Alison & Roy and their cattery. We know that Alison & Roy have the highest ethics as breeders and produce absolutely gorgeous Ragdoll kittens.

They care completely about the health of all the kittens that they send out to new homes and ensure that the kittens are well socialized and confident as well.

We highly recommend Alison & Roy to anyone seeking professional, caring, experienced breeders. I couldn't have imagined going anywhere else - and would recommend them (as well as their cats!!!) to anybody seeking to add to their family.

We would be happy to discuss this cattery, as well as Alison & Roy, with any prospective new "parent" and can be contacted at: alshaz.heincen@xtra.co.nz

Judith & John who own Asti are very happy too.

We have now had Asti for nearly five months. The tiny kitten has changed into an enormous great cat so quickly that we can hardly believe it. With her winter coat on she looks fantastic. I remember , Alison, that you used to call her "little miss perfect" when she was first born and nothing has changed. She is so symmetrically marked that I get tired of looking to see if I can fault her. I never can. She is still largely white but has a lovely grey tail, ears and face. We have enjoyed every minute with Asti and are so grateful for the trouble you took to make sure we got the kitten that was right for us. She worships Judith (and vice versa) but she also spends time with me quite happily. She also seems to accept that she is an indoor cat but we know that she would get out on the deck given half a chance. Sometimes she goes absolutlely mad and rushes around the house stopping only to play with her toys. We had a job to stop her getting on the table but she seems to have got the message now. Her favorite place in the evening is that multi level "tower" we bought from you. She still manages to squeeze into the bed at the top but is really too big for it now In the photo, the last we had taken, she fits okay but now she droops over the edges.

She can be a little madam at times, but she has added so much to out lives that we can't imagine being without her. She weighs 3.8 kilos as on 3rd May and still growing fast! We still get a lot out of your web page and enjoy seeing the new faces.

With our greetings and very best wishes.

John and Judith

From Paddy & Dave about Madam Missy.

Hi Alison & Roy
Have been meaning to send you another photo of "Madam Missy" for so long now but the days just seem to get away on me.
As you can see she is just beautiful and has given us many hours of pleasure. She is such a character in many ways.
She has settled into travelling with us around the countryside very well and of course has many admirers from fellow campers. They come to see her, not us usually once they hear there is a cat in the camp.
Her markings have started to change over the winter months we have noticed.
When will she be fully grown? as she is certainly a big "Kitten" now.
Just a few more weeks and she will be "1" Where has that year gone.
Many thanks to you once again for breeding such a lovely baby for us to fuss over. Hope you are both fit and well

Regards
Paddy and Dave

Gemma sent this through about little Skyler.

Just thought we’d send a little letter to say hello and let you know how baby Skyler is doing. Wow she has really taken the hearts to us all…..she is just another baby in the house…..she is doing great, very friendly with everyone and loves being centre of attention. Loves her cuddles of course and has now taken over our bed and likes to sleep in between us! During the day she loves sleeping in her own little bed, and likes to hide her little toys in there too! She is getting so fluffy and big….my goodness she is getting heavy too!! Must be the good food !!

I've sent you a couple of little pics of her that I thought were just too adorable. We are living in a house of boxes as we move in 5 weeks time to our new property, cant wait…..and yes you where so right, Skyler LOVES the boxes, she loves them so much that I cant find her sometimes and she is hiding in them haha!! She loves our TV remotes, I've had to put them up high on the dinning room table but always sneaks up to try get them again, she obviously doesn’t agree with what we're watching. We are loving every moment of her and still are so great full to you both, thank you J !

Another from Denise & Alan.

Hi Alison & Roy

We wanted to write you a short piece for your website and tell everyone how wonderful your raggies are!

2 and a half years ago we were looking for a cat and came across your website, we called and you had kittens so we came out to see you and fell in love with our 2 ragdoll kittens from Trixie and George a cute little girl and a beautiful boy, we thought about names and came up with Neo Mia Cara (my new best Friend for the boy) and Keiko (beautiful one) for the girl, you let us use these names for the pedigree.

About a year and a half later we were fully in love with our furry babies and thought we needed another! So we called again and put our name on a waiting list for your next litter. 3 days before we were due to get married you called about a beautiful stunning blue point boy Rafferty who’s home had failed, so you sent pictures and our hearts were won! We picked him up and bought him home and he starred in all of our wedding photos, such a confident young man he was. Neo and Keiko took to him straight away!

This year we were lucky enough to buy another girl from you, a seal lynx- Princess Amidala, she is now 4 months old and so affectionate, she is usually found purring and cuddling in bed with either me or Alan or the other furry family very confident and loves to join in with the big boys. We had to buy a Californian king size bed to accommodate them all, but we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Alison and Roy you have been fabulous and when ever I have had any questions as an (over) caring mum!! You have always been patient and advised!

We love all our furry family they have settled into our family, with us and our 2 welsh springers, I am sure Raffi thinks he is one of them sometimes!

Ragdolls are excellent pets, cuddly, floppy, intelligent and funny and we are so pleased we found your website!

Thanks for everything!

Denise and Alan, Neo, Keiko, Raffi, Obi & Ami and woof woof from Chester & Flint!!

Chrissy & Pauls kind words, December 09.

Dear Alison & Roy (Grandma & Pops)

We would just like to say a huge and heart felt thank you to you guys for giving us the best Xmas pressy ever our gorgeous wee man Oscar. As you know due to our gypsy like circumstances it has taken us 3 years and many hours spent emailing you and going on your website daily to look at all the gorgeous babies before we were finally settled in our new home and able to make the decision and commitment to have Oscar. And we are so very thankful we did, he is perfect, gorgeous and adorable, and for me working from home and having him around all day is just fabulous, although I don’t get a lot of work done at the moment especially when it is play time. He is so much fun, and after spending hundreds of dollars on his new toys, his favorite toys are a pen with the ink cartridge taken out, a cardboard roll from glad wrap, his tunnel and his mouse which he does take to bed with him.

Alison & Roy, you do a wonderful job with your breeding programme, your babies are all healthy, vet checked, and vaccinated before they go to their new homes, but most of all they have all been so loved and handled and socialized and the fact that we were able to come and see Oscar at just 6 weeks old was so awesome for me as I felt like he was mine right from the day he was born (as he was the only Blue Point Male out of all the litters it was meant to be) and that I wasn’t missing out on any of his growing stages as you kept me up to date with those gorgeous pickys and letting me know how he was getting on.

He has adjusted to our home and us perfectly and it is so nice to be a family with our new wee boy, actually he isn’t so little anymore. He loves his snuggles when he wants them, but mum can’t help herself sometimes and has cuddles anyway, he has definitely got his own personality, if he doesn’t get what he wants he sure lets me know about it, he is very talkative. He loves his play time, and also his grooming time when he just flops on the floor lies back and laps it up, he is getting used to his harness and is walking with it on now instead of crawling on floor. The best time of the day for me is first thing in the morning when he wakes, he just comes up and snuggles right into me purring and kneading and he is so gooey I could just eat him.

Paul is absolutely besotted with him, and just the other day said, thanks hon for getting him he is an awesome puddy, just love him!

So once again I want to thank you so much for all your patience over the last three years, for answering all my questions and most of all for the gift of Oscar, I couldn’t imagine life without him now.

Love

Chrissy, Paul & Oscar

----------------------------------------------------------------------------Annemarrie wrote this about their kitten Kimmy. January 2010.

We moved to New Zealand from South Africa in Oct 2008 and within a couple of weeks I started looking for Ragdoll breeders. I came across the Keepin-Katz website and made contact with Alison immediately.

As we were still settling in, we were not ready for pets right away and I kept Alison’s email. A couple of months later we added a puppy (Tess) to the family and I decided to contact Alison as Tess needed a companion and a Ragdoll would be the best (and obvious) choice. Lucky for us Alison and Roy had litters due and I made an appointment to visit them.

When we got there, I immediately knew that we found the right breeder. Just hours before we arrived two litters were born and we had to be very quiet around the Moms and babies. I was surprised to see that each Mom had a camera pointed at her and the babies. Allowing Roy and Alison to keep an eye on them from the house.

We had to wait 12 weeks before we could bring Kimmy home but could visit her as often as we liked. It was great to see how she changed and got bigger every time we saw her. Finally, on 4 Dec 2009 we brought her home.

Alison and Roy were very helpful and had lots of advise and tips for us. It was great to be able to buy many of Kimmy’s supplies from them as well. They went through a lot of trouble to help us find good quality cat furniture and to choose the right one for our little bundle of fur, who would grow up to be a big bundle of fur.

Kimmy is as soft as cotton wool and those pale blue eyes just makes you melt and give into her every need. She is very clever, inquisitive, and fearless and the most beautiful cat in the world. All our guests fall in love with her and cannot get over how beautiful, sweet and adoring she is.

From the first time I let her out, she was quite happy, exploring every little thing and getting to know her new surroundings. She has explored every inch of the house and knows all her favourite hiding places.

Both Kimmy and Tess were a little unsure when they met for the first time and I was there to intervene at the slightest sign of trouble but it was never necessary. Lucky for Tess, Kimmy is a true Ragdoll and she never once clawed at Tess. Before we knew it, they became the biggest friends and they take over the house.

Kimmy is very inquisitive and she needs to be involved in everything we do. She is a perfect little lady and is not fazed by anything at all. As all kittens, Kimmy loves to play with her toys. The cat tunnel we got from Alison and Roy is a big favourite. She is totally crazy and has way too much energy at times. Every day we find ourselves laughing at her cuteness and it is so funny to watch her and Tess playing.

Kimmy has found she has a voice and uses it often to let her feelings and wishes known – especially when she is hungry. She often calls Tess if she is in the mood for playing.

We are rather careful and protective over our little bundle of joy and she is not allowed outside but she really, really wants to and we have to be very careful when opening the doors.

We all really enjoy her and must thank Alison and Roy for providing us with such a wonderful little girl. If anyone is a cat lover, we would certainly recommend getting a Ragdoll as they are the most lovable and affectionate breed and without hesitation would recommend Alison and Roy Keepin, as Breeders of choice. Their love and passion for what they do really shine through and Kimmy is even more than we were wishing for.

Annemarie and Willem Pitel, Auckland New Zealand
